Seared salmon filets may be the easiest healthy fish recipe there is. The ingredient list is short and it only takes about 10 minutes to make, start to finish. I once made this dish after coming back from a long day of sightseeing with visiting friends, and they were amazed at what a delicious meal I was able to whip up in record time.
Salmon has long been known for its health benefits due to the high amount of omega 3 fatty acid it contains. Omega 3s reduce pain and inflammation, increase cardiovascular health and improve brain function. Eating a fatty fish, such as wild-caught salmon, up to twice a week is a healthy choice and will not cause you to take in too much mercury.
The best way to sear salmon is by using a carbon steel skillet heated to medium-high. Then add the oil, and when hot, add the salmon. You can also use a cast iron pan or any other type of healthy cookware for this quick, delicious healthy fish recipe.
